I am an artist residing in Cardiff, South Wales. Having emigrated from New York City, I have exhibited nationally and internationally in collaborative exhibitions, including USA, UK and Poland.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Art Education in 1992 and completed a Masters degree in Fine Art at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff in 2005.
I began my career in museum conservation in 1995 while working at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and have since worked in positions at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian and the National Museums and Galleries of Wales.
My artwork extends my professional experience as museum conservator and explores transcendental qualities found in the dialogue between historic and contemporary artefacts, the cultures they represent and investigates how knowledge and histories evolve. I usually embark upon long term projects that involve extensive periods of research and the active engagement of people not necessarily from an art background in order to develop a rigorously examined context for the work to evolve from. This working process aims to offer an intimate exchange between person, place and history all the while leaving open an element of chance and the possibility of revitalising social creativity.
